Use a fine tip glue pen or tiny glue dots and place the adhesive behind printed letters or other darker printed elements on the transparency. I am a big fan of Glossy Accents by Ranger and tend to use this lot for transparencies and acrylic items.
Use adhesive such as photo tabs, double sided tape, liquid adhesive, etc if there is going to be an area of the transparency that will be covered by a photo or embellishment. Just be sure to apply your adhesive directly under the portion of the transparency or acrylic that will be covered.
Other popular ways to attach transparencies include brads, eyelets, snaps, clips, buttons, staples, photo turns, nail heads, and stitching.
As most of you know….. I love to hand stitch on my layouts. I recently purchased some amazing American Crafts paper from my trip to The Scrapping Bug. Love the new line so much that I bought all of it.
On the following layout of DD I also added some Ruby Rock It butterfly pop-up embellishments. These are simply fabulous. I poked some holes in by hand along the shaped paper and hand stitched.

Challenge: I would love to see you sew on your next layout. Don’t be intimidated, it can be something as simple as two little stitches by hand or elaborate with a machine. Email your creations to me to earn a ballot for this months blog draw. Please put CCAS Blog in your subject line so it doesn’t get lost in my inbox. Thanks.

We all have it, and many of us do not know how we will use up such a large bottle of it. What am I talking about, ultra thick embossing enamel, and otherwise known as U.T.E.E. Remember that trend where we “had” to have it, even if we did not know what we would do with it. Well it is time to take it down from its dusty resting place and put it to some good use.
The technique I am about to show you is so simple, with tons of “wow” factor. What you will do is create a translucent picture with a patterned paper showing through the back of it. Now let’s get started!
First off you will want to choose your photo and print it off onto regular printing paper.
Next step will be to completely cover the back of your picture with adhesive (glue stick works well here) and then place over a piece of patterned paper (the worded ones work well) the same size of your photo and adhere in place.
Then you will cover your entire photo with a clear embossing ink, and cover with UTEE and sprinkle off the extra.
Heat with your embossing gun, melting all the UTEE and making sure it soaks through the paper. You will probably have to do at least 3 layers. Your paper may curl up; all you have to do is press down on the photo to flatten out once your utee is not too hot to the touch. In this layout, I actually adhered my patterned paper and photo to chipboard, which made it not curl.
You can either crack the UTEE once cooled to give a distressed look or leave as is. If you choose to sew your photo onto a layout, take precaution, because it could crack the UTEE if you go to fast, and also clean your needle afterwards, so it does not jam up your machine later on.

Now go on, get messy, play and create.
This week’s word:
Grow
1 a : to spring up and develop to maturity b : to be able to grow in some place or situation c : to assume some relation through or as if through a process of natural growth
2 a : to increase in size by assimilation of material into the living organism or by accretion of material in a nonbiological process (as crystallization) b : increase, expand
3 : to develop from a parent source
4 a : to pass into a condition : become b : to have an increasing influence c : to become increasingly acceptable or attractive
I used this word as the title for my layout I did for Let’s Capture These Sketches. It is of my darling DD and how much she is growing up.

Use this week’s word in your next layout and email it to me at thynner5@yahoo.ca to earn a ballot for the monthly draw!
