I just finished making an adorable gift card holder for one of the teachers helpers in Paige’s JK Class. I based my card on these easy to follow instructions by Jess:
Gift Card Holder by By Jess Duerksen
OK girls…we’re making this quick and easy money holder today!

Cut a piece of CS or double sided pp to 7”h X 9”w.
Score vertically at 3” and 6” so you have 3 equal sections of 3” X 7”
Measure down 2” on the first score and cut out to there
Now measure over 1” and down the side 2.5” and cut off the angle

You’ve got your holder made! You can tape the bottom shut to make sure nothing gets lost… The cash or GC gets tucked in here.

Now add your stamp or sentiment to the front and embellish as desired!
Have fun!

I think one of best words in the English language is the word HAPPY. So this week’s challenge is to use that simple word, HAPPY.
HAPPY:
Here’s a page I made using the word happy…

Everything in the page is using the Scrapperie’s May kit, “La Cage aux Folles”. The lacey edge was made using a Fiskars edging and embossing punch and some sandpaper.
Don’t forget to post your challenge pages to this post or send Tara an email at thynner5@yahoo.ca with your included images. For every challenge you share with us, your name will be entered into the monthly prize draw. Good luck!

I have often heard complaints from my fellow scrapbookers about how much they love the look of glossy photo paper and yet hate the finger prints that seem to appear. Unfortunately, getting fingerprints and smudges are unavoidable when handling glossy photo paper. There are a few things you can do to minimize them.
1. Purchase photo paper that have a perforated extension. This allows you to grip the photo and lift it without getting any prints on the photo. This is great for when you are transferring your photos from the printer to a work surface. Once your photo is dry just tear at the perfection. HP makes special perferated photo paper and I use it all the time.
2. You can do the obvious and start buying matte photo paper. This type of paper is much more forgiving when it comes to fingerprints and smudges.
3. Purchase a lint free cloth like one you would use to clean eyeglasses or CD’s/DVD’s. This is wonderful for wiping away the fingerprints. Just make sure that the cloth is dry and that you do not apply too much pressure. This is a fantastic solution to the fingerprint issue and I have done it several times.
If you have any tips or techniques you would like to share with us please email me at thynner5@yahoo.ca and put “CCAS Blog Tips” in the subject line. Everytime you do you will be entered into the monthly draw.

Here is the page I created using this fun colour scheme:

Today is an amazing day! The summer issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today (SCT) was released yesterday and it is fabulous! Catherine, Kerry and the team at SCT have been working hard to create a new look for the magazine, and the changes are wonderful! There is also a new blog and new look for the SCT website. As in the past, you can also download the entire issue and all past issues online.

Over the next week, I challenge you to comment on the CCAS blog and let us know what you think about the new SCT site and the magazines new look. On July 1st I will choose one lucky commenter to win a one year subscription to Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine.
Get commenting and tell us what you think.
Have a fabulous day!
