Challenge Monday

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

It’s time to show me your frames. I would like to see you frame something on your layout. It can be a photo, quote, or journaling. You can use any scrapbooking embellishment, paint, words or some digital frame. Use your imagination.

Here is a layout I did for Valerie Salmon’s Sketch 102 class. I chose to showcase lovely, Olive. I had a frame that I covered in paint and then stickled to add some bling!

Please email your creation to me at: thynner5@yahoo.ca and put “CCAS Blog Challenge” in the subject line. You could also link it to me here on the blog.

All creations will earn you a ballot into the Monthly Blog Draw!

I am constantly making lists. If I didn’t I would forget my own name!! I have grocery lists, scrapping lists, budget lists and everyday “things to do” list.

My challenge for you this week is to make up a small list and scrap it. The topic and theme is up to you so have fun with it!

Here is my layout and a list about ……… Me! I used a great Cosmo Cricket papers I received from The Scrapping Bug.

Journaling reads: 5 Things

1. I feel blessed each and every day to have my family.

2. I used to eat peanut butter and mayonaise sandwhiches.

3. I watched Jaws when I was little and now I’m afraid of sharks.

4. I love to sit on my front porch and watch thunderstorms.

5. I’m highly allergic to dogs but wouldn’t give mine up!

Wordy Wednesday - Relax

Saturday, August 9th, 2008

With summer coming to end… boohoo!… I thought I’d pick a word that kind of suits this time of year… RELAX.

Definitions of relax on the Web:

  • become less tense, rest, or take one’s ease; “He relaxed in the hot tub”; “Let’s all relax after a hard day’s work”
  • make less taut; “relax the tension on the rope”
  • loosen: become loose or looser or less tight; “The noose loosened”; “the rope relaxed”
  • cause to feel relaxed; “A hot bath always relaxes me”
  • become less tense, less formal, or less restrained, and assume a friendlier manner; “our new colleague relaxed when he saw that we were a friendly group”
  • make less severe or strict; “The government relaxed the curfew after most of the rebels were caught”
  • become less severe or strict; “The rules relaxed after the new director arrived”
  • slack: make less active or fast; “He slackened his pace as he got tired”; “Don’t relax your efforts now”
  • Let’s see a page using the word RELAX….

I would love for you to be inspired to create something using this week’s word. It can be in your title, your photo(s) or your subject. Don’t forget that if you complete any sketch puzzle challenge, Monday challenge, wordy Wednesday challenge or submit a tip for Tip Tuesday then you will automatically be entered to win this month’s Blog Prize!! So get scrapping and either send them to Tara at( thynner5@yahoo.ca ) or link them in the blog.

    Good luck!

    Challenge Monday - Shape Up!

    Monday, August 4th, 2008

This week’s challenge is all about creating a page that is of an odd shape.  So no circles, no squares and no rectangles this week!  Think outside the box and create something out of the ordinary.

    Here’s my page, “Special Gift“.

I used a large colouring book image off of the internet to get my base dinosaur shape.  I taped it to the back of my paper and then cut out my dino shape.  I very slowly machine stitched all the lines to create my shape’s details.

So grab your thinking caps and create a page that’s out of the ordinary!

Don’t forget, link us up or send your pages and cards to Tara at thynner5@yahoo.ca and you’ll get a chance to win this month’s blog prize.  Good luck!

    Challenge Monday

    Monday, July 28th, 2008

Sew… it’s Monday and time for me to post a challenge. I always get sew… excited when it is my turn to post. Sew… do you want to know what your challenge is for this week??

It’s all about sewing!! I just want to see you sew on your next creation. It can be either by hand or by a machine.

On the following layout of Paige I used a stitch template for the flourish design and poked holes by hand for the side stitches. Then I grabbed some pink thread and sewed on my page. I love the added dimension it gives to a page!

Please email your creation to me at: thynner5@yahoo.ca and put “CCAS Blog Challenge” in the subject line. You could also link it to me here on the blog.

    Challenge Monday

    Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

    This week’s challenge is to complete a layout using the following list of items;

    • 3 photos (any size, any colour)
    • use the colour red somewhere on your page
    • use a die cut image (any shape, colour, etc.)
    • use a punch of any kind (shape, an edge punch, etc.)

Here’s the page I created using all of the things above…

    Be Free

I used the Fiskar’s punch to punch the slots in the red paper and then backed the strip of paper with white cardstock.

Please send your page creations to Tara at: thynner5@yahoo.ca and put “CCAS Blog Challenge” in the subject line. You will earn a ballot for this month’s Blog Prize Draw!  Good luck!
