Layout Gallery

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

I have read alot of comments from you girls on how you would love to have a gallery to see some of the layouts. Well, if you email your layouts to me at thynner5@yahoo.ca and put the challenge # in the subject line. I will post them here on the blog throughout the duration of the crop. That way your work can be showcased and admired by everyone. It’s nice to have your hard work seen and appreciated!

Challenge #5: Let’s See Some Flowers!

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

It’s my turn to post a challenge. Seeing that it is finally feeling like spring today….. I would like to see some flowers. They can be flowers in your patterned paper, Primas, homemade flowers, flowers in your picture or even in your journaling.

This sample layout I did using my Scrapdango Design kit. It is of DD and she happened to just stop and literally, smell the flowers on our walk. Thanksfully I had the camera because I was going to take some pictures of Paige at school.

I handcut the flowers from the Cherry Arte  papers and grabbed my Sketchworld sketch from Lucy Chesna and this layout was born!

Please email me your layouts at thynner5@yahoo.ca and put “CCAS Challenge #5″ in the subject line or link it on the blog. You will earn a ballot for some of the wonderful prizes we have!! I can’t wait to see what you come up with.

Challenge #4: Birthday Cards

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

For challenge #4 I want to see some birthday cards! Yup… birthday cards! They can be any size, any shape, any colours or made for any age or gender…. make them fun!

Now since Catherine at Scrapbook and Cards Today has been SO extremely generous and donating some AWESOME prizes for our celebration here at CCAS, I’d like to help her out too!!! I’d like to add a BONUS challenge to this one…… I challenge you to create at least ONE birthday card and send it to Catherine for her to share with the kids who can’t be at home during their birthdays. You see, recently Catherine has been collecting birthday cards to give to local Children’s Hospitals. And I’d like to help her out by contributing to her cause!

So to be eligible for a BONUS randomly drawn prize from me, create a minimum of ONE birthday card to send, take a photo of the card with an addressed envelope to SCT and link/email your photo to the CCAS blog. If you create more than 4 cards for the cause, I will enter your name twice into my BONUS draw!

Here’s the address to send your card to:

Catherine Tachdjian,
c/o Scrapbook and Cards Today,

Here’s a few birthday cards to inspire you…

So let’s see ‘em everyone!!!

Welcome to the CCAS NSD Celebration!

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

Good morning and welcome to the Creative Crafts and Stickers National Scrapbooking Day (Weekend) Celebration!

I am thrilled to be the lucky one to once again invite you to visit the blog all weekend long to join in the festivities.

Before I get started, please be aware that for those of you who receive the Feedblitz updates, there will be a LOT of updates this weekend due to the celebration, but remember, this is a one time event.  Please do not unsubscribe due to too many updates over the next few days.  After the event is over, we will return to once a day updates.

From now until end of day Sunday, we will be celebrating our love for scrapbooking with challenges and a few make n takes.  Be sure to check yesterdays post to be entered in an amazing draw, as Catherine from Scrapbook & Cards Today has offered TWO copies of the Simply Cards Today card book.

Here are the rules for the challenges this weekend:

1.  Must be a new creation, starting today.
2.  No digital pages.  Hybrid and traditional creations welcome.
3.  You must post your work to the appropriate challenge comment section or email to jen@creativecraftsandstickers.com.  Please put CCAS Celebration and the challenge number in the subject line. If you email your challenge, be sure to post a comment letting us know your entry has been emailed. Links to blogs or photo storage areas are fine.
4.  Must be linked no later than 11:59pm EST on Monday evening.
5.  You must post your first name & last initial and some way of getting in contact with you (ie: email or blog address).
6.  No combining of challenges.
7.  You will earn ONE ballot per completed challenge entry.  You may do challenges more than once but each page must complete the challenge requirements.
8.  Double pages will only count as one entry.

Challenge #1

To help increase your odds of winning some of our awesome prizes, you can earn extra ballots for prizes by commenting on all the challenges and NSD posts for the CCAS NSD celebration (Friday May 2 - Tuesday May 6).  The only hitch is that you must complete and link/email one challenge by Monday 11:59pm EST before any of your comments can count towards ballots… trust me this will be easy!

*** We interrupt this exciting post to tell you of some fabulous news .  Catherine from Scrapbook & Cards Today is so grateful for all of the amazing posts that you all have made, that she has offered three subscriptions as prizes.  Each day of this event, we will be holding a draw for the subscription.  To be entered in this draw, you need to comment on other peoples completed challenges.  One winner will be announced each day from the comments made on that day.  So let’s get commenting.  Thanks again Catherine!  You rock!  ***

Challenge #2

The second challenge is to create a 4×12 layout.  No, this is not a typo.  I am challenging you to create a 4×12 layout.  I use this size for my 365 Days of Memories photographs.  Given that I am taking a photograph and journaling everyday of the year, I decided that a 4×12 layout for each day would be perfect.  Once I got started, I realized what a great size it is for mini albums.

Here is an example of a 4×12 layout from my album …

So get scrapping and show us what you can do with a 4×12 layout.  You never know, you too may fall in love with this size.

Good luck with the challenges and we hope you enjoy scrapping with the Creative Crafts and Stickers team.
