Wordy Wednesday - Sn*w

Friday, October 17th, 2008

This week’s word is SNOW.

Snow is defined as….

  • precipitation falling from clouds in the form of ice crystals
  • a layer of snowflakes (white crystals of frozen water) covering the ground
  • This cute little snow bunny is my neice, Miss E!  These photos were caught by my sister-in-law, Heidi Brand.  Isn’t she cute???

I would love for you to be inspired to create something using this week’s word. The word Happiness can be expressed in your title, your photo(s) or your subject. Don’t forget that if you complete any sketch puzzle challenge, Monday challenge, wordy Wednesday challenge or submit a tip for Tip Tuesday then you will automatically be entered to win this month’s Blog Prize!! So get scrapping and either send them to Tara at ( thynner5@yahoo.ca ) or link them in the blog comments.

    Tip Tuesday

    Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

This week’s tip was submitted by Melitta Ball:

When I am finished reading my favorite scrapbook magazine, I don’t throw it away. I keep them under my craft table and then stamp my projects on them. Along with providing a cushion under my project, when they get inked up I just rip off the messy sheet and I have a new surface to ink against the next time.

I have a ‘coupon’ folder that I keep on my craft table, and when I see a layout in a magazine that I like, I cut it out and place it into the coupon folder. When I need inspiration I reach in and grab out a saved layout.

Whenever I buy products (especially kids toys) and the box has a window front made of plastic, I keep the plastic to use for my shaker boxes on cards. Free windows.

Melitta has earned a ballot for this month’s draw. You can send in your random tips to me at thynner5@yahoo.ca to earn a ballot in this month’s blog prize draw!!

    Challenge Monday - Chipboard

    Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

This weeks challenge involves chipboard. I would love to see some altered chipboard on your layout or card. I was inspired by a post at Scrapdango asking how to use and alter chipboard. There are some great tips posted there as well.

Here is my layout. I just pulled out some chalk inks and dragged them across the chipboard until I was happy with the two tone look. I then adhered it to a Halloween layout I had did for The Scrapping Bug using the Imaginese paper line:

Please email your creation to me at thynner5@yahoo.ca or link it to this post for a ballot for this month’s Blog Prize Draw.

    Just for Fun!

    Sunday, September 28th, 2008

Some of you may now that my BFF, Ally is moving out to BC and leaves this week. It has been a whirlwind of activity for her as she prepares to move to the other side of Canada and leave her family and friends behind.

I was lucky enough to spend the afternoon with her and Jen at her Mom’s house. We always have a great time together and it is like we are sisters. I am going to miss her…. but at least we live in a computer age and can stay in touch.

Here is a picture of us that my hubby took this afternoon…… enjoy!

With World Card Day fast approaching I wanted to let everyone know of something special you can do. My friend Brianne,  brought this to my attention and I think it is a wonderful idea. Take a moment to check out Cards for Heros. It is an organization that sends cards to men and women overseas to send home to thier loved one. They also send them to those in the hospital recovering from injuries. Cards of encouragement and gratitude.

I will be making some cards, along with some of my Scrapdango girls, to send overseas. If you chose to make some cards, please email them to me at thynner5@yahoo.ca and put “Cards for Heros” in the subject line. For every card you make, you will earn a ballot for this months blog prize draw. All cards must be new and created for Cards for Heros.

Join me at Scrapdango  on October 4th to celebrate National Card Making Day!! Our theme will be “Cards Throughout the Year.” There will be lots and lots of card challenges throughout the day. If you complete the challenges, you will have several cards to use throughout the year. There will be prizes as well!!
