Freezer papers are grease proof materials with waxy finishes on one side. They are extremely useful kitchen products and are typically used to wrap foods like meat before they\’re put inside freezers. Their coating ensures their contents are kept protected and fresh from air and moisture. The versatile and durable paper also has a ton of other household uses.
Utilizing the freezer sheets to create your own shirt is a particularly fun and easy project. Buy a new t-shirt or pick an old one from your wardrobe. Be sure that it\’s plain and wrinkle free. Put the plain shirt flat on a hard surface or iron board and then pick its design.
The shirt\’s design can be anything from a simple image to a short phrase. Try to keep it uncomplicated as you will have to cut the image out later on. Sketch out the design or print one off of your computer. Then, simply trace it carefully onto the matted side of the freezer sheet.
Use an exacto knife or scissors to cut the design out and place it on the shirt\’s top. When it\’s in your desired location, take your iron and slowly run it over your material. Being exposed to heat will cause the waxy side to bond to the shirt\’s fabric.
After a few minutes of ironing, your design will have an adequate stencil. Insert a flat piece of cardboard into the shirt and then use a textile paint to fill in the stencil and let it dry overnight.
After twelve hours or so, you can carefully peel the freezer sheet off and admire your finished work. To ensure the paint properly sets, turn the t-shirt inside out and slowly iron over the emblem for a few seconds.
