The August 2006 Memory Makers magazine has a tip from Veronica Melton of Alexander, North Carolina. When I read the tip, I knew I had to share it with all of you.
She writes, “My favorite use for scraps is making cards to send to the Make a Child Smile foundation. The foundation is all about making children smile through the pain and sickness of their illnesses. The website makeachildsmile.org gives you the first name, background and medical history/condition of these sick little ones so you can choose who to send the cards to. The children and the families really appreciate getting the cards and good thoughts. I try to send out a few cards each month using my scraps and a whole lot of love.”
I know we all have lots of scraps, and that if we spend a few minutes, we could all make a difference.
Thanks for listening!
